Ending the NURED Project: final products, and final thoughts.

28.02.2020 Education, Projects, Research

The NURED Project has reached the end of the road! After November 2019 all our activities were wrapped up, and now by the end of February also our administrative tasks are slowly coming to an end.

And did we reach the goal? Yes, we most certainly did: Our aligned curriculas for home care nursing in the Baltic Sea Region (16 ECTS, EQF levels 5 and 6) are available for FREE download in English HERE. We are proud and excited to share these curriculas with you, and hope future home care professionals can gain from all the hard work we did 2016-2020. You can also find four, short educational videos, as well as a handbook about our project via the same link.

As always when projects close, the NURED team sat down and talked about what we gained and the lessons we learned. Above all else, team members highlighted the irreplaceable value of the cross-border cooperation and the exchange of knowledge that we experienced.  Our four countries (Finland, Sweden, Estonia and Latvia) may be geographically close, yet sometimes far apart regarding matters related to home care. We learned so much from each other, both during the actual academic work on our NURED curriculas but also while simply talking to each other – about our homes, families, cultures, partner schools, governments, health care systems…!

We are thus happy to announce that NURED aims to continue the work of spreading homecare knowledge through a Nordplus Network, called (wait for it… yup, you guessed it) NUREDplus. This is a mobility network, which would hopefully allow for student & teacher exchange, and will help keep NURED alive.

Last but definitely not least, team NURED would like to thank our funders, the European Union, as well as the Interreg Central Baltic Program for believing in our project and helping us immensely along the way. Thank you for helping us pave the way for new pedagogical methods, improved teamwork and professional skills, better IT & e-service skills and improved stress- and time management for home care nursing.

P.S.: Did you miss our final seminar? Or was it simply so good, that you must watch it again…? You can find it online HERE.
