If i don’t go now, I’ll never go

16.01.2015 Student Life

Are you guys ready for another Inside Arcada Blog?

Here we go:

Who am I?

My name is Jessica. I’m a 2nd year Marketing student. I was born and raised in Helsinki. I had a happy childhood, most of that time I spent in different ice rinks around Helsinki. Ice skating was a part of my life for 16 years. I started ice skating when I was 2 years old and decided to quit after I turned 18. I really felt like I wanted to do something else with my life. So what did I do?

I started working, moved to London and decided to apply for the BBA program at Arcada. I got accepted and I’ve been really happy with my studies so far. Last fall was really busy and intense in so many ways, let’s see what this spring will turn out like.

So in October (?) all of the students got an email from our program leaders about the exchange info meeting. I decided to go on it just to hear what our coordinator, Elina had to say.

We got a lot of good information about everything regarding the whole exchange, how to apply, where to go, why you should go etc. The deadline of applying was in two weeks so there wasn’t really much time. I tried to make up my mind whether I should go or stay in Finland, (I had decided the year before to do my exchange fall 2016). Four days before the application deadline I spontaneously looked through different Unis and what courses they had and made a top 3 list. Three days after that I had applied to do my exchange in Copenhagen.

Why Copenhagen?

I’ve been to CPH three times before and I always knew that someday I would be living there. I’m also very into fashion and design and CPH is the mecca in Scandinavia when it comes to that. The name of the school is CPH Business Academy (External link). They had a good range of marketing classes. A mix of CPH, marketing studies sounded perfect to me.

Long story short, I’m leaving on the 17th, school starts on 19th and I’ll be back in July.

Let’s do this.
