”Plastics in Circular Economy” Seminar 30.9.16 at Arcada

A hectic September was closed at Arcada with research by the seminar, ‘’Plastics in Circular Economy’’. The event brought together the leading Finnish research groups and companies working with material recycling and plastics.
The event was organised by Material Value Chains (ARVI) research programme /Plastics Theme Group in collaboration with CLIC Innovation Ltd and Arcada’s Department of Energy and Materials Technology.
ARVI has created a unique innovation community since 2013. The research highlights from ARVI’s Plastics theme were presented the seminar, as well as the next steps for sustainable future with plastics were discussed.
The seminar was opened with greetings from the Finnish Plastics Industries Federation. Research Engineer Valeria Poliakova presented the results as Arcada’s representative among the other researchers from Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finnish Environment Institute SYKE, Tampere University of Technology, University of Eastern Finland and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. After hearing about ARVI’s research cases the seminar was closed with Circular Economy road-mapping for Finland by Sitra’s representative.
The closing seminar for the whole ARVI programme is to be organised in January 2017, involving all 18 private partners and 11 research institutes.
