Hyunjee Kang, a last-year student in International Business from South Korea, borrows the Arcada Communications blog for a few weeks to write about life and studies in Finland.
Hej, what a nice week, hah! I feel like summer already came here in Finland.
I LOVE Finland during this kind of beautiful weather, and am so happy that I can enjoy Finnish early summer before going back to S-Korea for the summer. Before starting a beautiful weekend, I am going to quickly update my blog post for the readers who might wait for my new post hahaha.
What have you guys done during last few weeks?
It was pretty satisfactory and somehow tough weeks for me: submitting all of my lastly left assignments in Arcada, interviewed about a foreign language experience, barbequing, thinking a lot about my future, enjoying sun, etc.
Yeah!! Finally, I finished all courses in Arcada by summiting left assignments. Feel so fresh and somehow weird that only thesis and this practical training left for me. But again finger cross to all Arcada students having similar situation with me. Only few steps left!!
And interview? Yes, I did short interview about a foreign language experience and got filmed (hah, what a good experience). Even though Finnish generally speak English very well, learning Finnish and Swedish are important because learning a language means not only studying that language but also knowing and understanding that country in general better, I think. I really like both Finnish and Swedish courses in Arcada. It’s well taught by nice teachers and class itself is enjoyable. It’s always exciting to hear and understand some words and phrases that I’ve learned. So, why not? Recommend!
Barbeque can’t be skipped in this nice weather! I believe that “summer is coming” means that “barbeque is starting”. Barbequing, nice weather and good people are always perfect balance. Recommend! 🙂
My four years in Finland and Arcada are felt very short when looking back on it now. From the moment that came to Finland alone with two big bags almost as big as me, moved a lot looking for a house from temporary house, hostel, HOAS apartment, to home now, struggled (and still :p) with new language even English, met good people and made unforgettable memories to my current moment which is last year in Arcada. I do not know how my life will turn out and where it will be yet, but living and studying in Finland were really good experience and opportunity in my 20’s. So, Recommend if somebody read my post, considering studying in Finland and Arcada 🙂
Enjoy the moment! Nauti hetkestä! Njut av stunden!
Have a nice weekend
