Recharging for the up coming week

After six days of great lectures, inspiring stories and bucket loads of rain we finally have a day off. This day has mostly been spent getting to know the city by foot, experiencing local culinary treats (Fish&Chips) and, of course, resting.
The rest is well needed because starting tomorrow we will continue developing our ideas of a social enterprise. There are five groups with five great ideas and it is exciting the follow the growth of these potential businesses. Group work has also become immensely easier since understanding our natural roles through the Belbin model.
We’ve been given a great theoretical base on social entrepreneurship over the past week and the definition of a social enterprise has been debated and discussed on many occasions. In the end, I believe all of us can agree on it being a profit making company with a focus on social issues. Now it’s time to put our knowledge into practice.
Come Thursday morning we will all be pitching our ideas to a panel of dragons. Until then, there is a lot of work to be done.
