HRM course in Iceland post 3

On thursday we got to be tourists for the day. In the morning we got on the bus and started travelling towards Husavik where we got to hear a presentation about a whale whatching company called North Sailing. Before we reached Husavik we stopped and saw a beautiful waterfall. After the North sailing presentation we had lunch and continued our sightseeing tour. On our way to the natural baths we got to stop at Namafjall Hverir to see the hot springs and boiling mud pools. It was very interesting to see and looked a little bit like we would have landed on Mars. Myvatn natural baths was a nice experience and it was funny how there was quite a big temperature difference when wondering around in the pool, it could go from burningg hot to quite cold. We also stopped on our way back to Akureyri at a local fish smokery and got to taste some amazing smoked salmon and artic trout that had been smoked not using wood but using sheep shit. When we got back to Akureyri we had an hour to get ready and then it was time for the gala dinner with everyone that has been participating in this course. After the dinner we all Went back to the backpackers to prepare for fridays presentations of our cases that we have been working on.
On friday we had our presentations in the morning and after each presentation the board asked us some quite difficult questions about the solutions we had come up with for our cases we had been working on. The board also gave us some really good feedback on what was good and what could maybe had been improved on. After the presentations where over we started our 5h bus journey back to Reykjavik. Once there we Went out for dinner and a couple of drinks and then to bed as we had to get up very early to catch our flight home.
All in all it was a very intense week but we have learned a lot and met a lot of new people. The lectures we have had have been very interesting and well thought out to help us with the cases we have been working on. The teachers have been very involved and helpful with our Projects and even though we had to work very hard to finish our Projects it was quite easy to work with the other students.
The icelandic students have been great hosts and have made us feel very welcomed. We can all say that it has been a great trip and we have all taken something with us from this experience.
